In a strongly worded statement posted on his social media accounts on August 6, Murkomen said he had watched with concern what he described as the increasingly troubling nature of Gachagua’s recent public remarks.
“I have been following with concern and shock Rigathi Gachagua’s public pronouncements and talks in recent days,” Murkomen said.
The Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader had initially alleged that Murkomen diverted eCitizen funds to finance political activities, claiming the move contributed to a severe shortage of passport booklets at the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services at Nyayo House.

According to Murkomen, the former DP’s speeches have been laced with division, ethnic undertones, and language that borders on incitement.
He accuses Gachagua of using these tactics to bully and pressure fellow politicians into joining his political camp.
“His daily diatribe, interspersed with vitriol, misogyny, lies, ethnic jingoism and hate, is carefully crafted to sow division, incite violence, extort and bully politicians to join his party and cement his imaginary status as a regional kingpin. A position that neither exists in the Constitution nor in our socio-cultural setups,” Murkomen stated.
Murkomen also dismissed claims that Gachagua holds any real authority as a so-called ‘Rift Valley Kingpin’, calling the title imaginary.
He noted that such a position has no basis in the Constitution or in the region’s social and cultural structures.
The CS pointed out that Gachagua has been addressing crowds from his rural home in Wamunyoro, where he retreated following his removal from office.
CS Murkomen claims these gatherings are being used to attack his name under the guise of raising security concerns.
He believes the real motive is to shift public attention away from questionable dealings allegedly run through Gachagua’s associates.
The Interior boss further alleged that Gachagua has now roped in political allies from the Rift Valley to push his agenda further.
“After realising that his attacks were not enough to shake my resolve, he has now changed tack and activated his sleeper cell of political accomplices from Rift Valley to aid him in his nefarious plot,” stated Murkomen.
Gachagua has constantly claimed he receives insider intelligence from state security agencies, including the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), regarding government plans, a phenomenon that has put state operatives under fire, with President William Ruto unveiling Vision 2060 during his July 30 State of the Nation Address.
In this regard, the DCI and CS Murkomen have strongly rejected these claims as false, reckless, and an attempt to politicise national security.
