NAIVASHA — Former ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has taken a swipe at ODM Party Leader Oburu Oginga after the veteran politician cut short his speech during a joint ODM–Kenya Kwanza (Broad-based government) meeting in Naivasha.
Oburu was addressing the gathering when he appeared to struggle while reading from his prepared speech. He eventually stopped midway, telling those present that his eyesight was failing him and that he was finding it difficult to continue reading his notes.
The unexpected moment attracted attention at the meeting, with Sifuna seizing on the incident to make a light-hearted political jab at the veteran politician.
Oburu, a veteran politician and the elder brother of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, remains an influential figure within ODM and the wider opposition political establishment.
