Senator Boni Khalwale’s family is mourning the sudden death of his wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, in a tragedy that has drawn painful memories of another loss within the family.
Gloria died on Saturday, August 15, 2026, after reportedly collapsing at the family home.
Her death came as a shock to relatives, friends and members of the public, with no publicly known indication that she had been suffering from a prolonged illness in the days leading up to her death.
The tragedy has also revived memories of the death of Khalwale’s first wife, Adelaide Shikanga, who died in 2019 after collapsing at the family home in Malinya, Ikolomani Sub-County.
Adelaide’s death was similarly sudden. A day before she died, she was described as being in high spirits and spent time hosting and talking with friends and relatives who visited the family home.
On the morning of her death, she reportedly walked to the bathroom before a house help found her unconscious on the floor.

The striking similarity between the two deaths — both occurring on Saturday mornings following sudden collapses — has added another deeply painful chapter to the Khalwale family’s history.
Gloria’s death leaves her family, friends and loved ones grieving a woman whose passing came without apparent warning.
As messages of condolence continue to reach the family, the focus remains on supporting Senator Khalwale and his loved ones through the difficult period of mourning.
Poleni sana to Senator Dr Boni Khalwale and the entire Khalwale family. May Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale rest in peace.
